Morning Devotion: Mercy

“But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.”
Psalm 13:5 NKJV

The Lord’s mercy is a beautiful thing and it is spoken of throughout Scripture. When Moses wanted to see the Glory of God, God responded, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

Later, in the New Testament, Hebrews 4:16 tells us to “come boldly to the throne of grace that we might obtain mercy and find grace in the time of need.”

Rejoice in His mercy today. We are so undeserving of such mercy, yet he extends it to us. May we never forget that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
