Evening Devotion: Trust

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NKJV

It’s so easy to trust in ourselves, what we see or what we have planned. When we trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding, when we submit to God then our way will be directed.

It can be hard to trust God at times because we have to trust with each step. Even those who God showed years into the future, they still had to trust God with each step, not knowing how or where God will direct.

Romans 8:28 is a familiar verse that goes hand in hand with Proverbs three.
Romans 8:28 NKJV “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

The text doesn’t say all things are good, it says all things work together for good. James even says that trials produce in us perseverance.

No matter what kind of situation you find yourself in, trust in the Lord. Don’t go by what you understand, turn to the Word and let it be light on your path.
