Morning Devotion: First

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Seek first. When we put God first Scripture promises that He will take care of everything else. Even when we face trials and temptations we have promises that we will make it through.

James 1:2-4 NKJV “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

It’s easy to get distracted in the middle of every day life and start seeking other things; solutions, escape, comfort, you name it. We can become worried about many things but Matthew 6:34 tells us not to worry about tomorrow because its trouble is sufficient for itself. The good news is, God knows what you will face today, tomorrow and even five years from now. Keep your focus fixed on the Kingdom of God and everything else will be taken care of.
