Adar II: Press Into The New

Philippians 3:13-16 KJV “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.”

Adar is the last month of the Hebrew Calendar. It is a time to finish well, a time of joy, and a time to thank God for sparing the Jewish people through Esther’s leadership. Adar takes us from Purim to Passover.

As we discussed in the post for Adar I, this is a leap year on the Jewish calendar. We are in a pregnant year on God’s calendar, and it is a time to believe again, to renew your faith in God’s goodness and promises.

As we enter into Adar II tonight and go through till April 8, 2024, let joy rise in you. Review the Scriptures on joy and the promises of God. It is also a good time to check your alignment with Israel and make sure a theological root of antisemitism isn’t present or hasn’t emerged in your life as a result of listening to voices in the media or replacement and fulfillment theology ministers.

When God delivered Israel from the plot of the wicked Haman, it is recorded in Esther 9:27 KJV “the Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year;”

Adar leads us into the first month of the Feast calendar, and we cross over at Passover. Our relationship with God is not a straight line from salvation to death; it is a cycle that goes upward – we go from faith to faith and glory to glory (Rom. 1:17; 2 Cor. 3:18). Use this month to prepare to cross over to the next level of understanding, the next level of connection, and the next level of being blessed to be a blessing.
