How to Live in the End of Days

Audio Teaching

Notes

Lev. 19:2 CSB “Speak to the entire Israelite community and tell them: Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.”

Lev. 22:2 CSB “Tell Aaron and his sons to deal respectfully with the holy offerings of the Israelites that they have consecrated to me, so they do not profane my holy name; I am the Lord.”

  14. Judge your neighbor fairly (“Do not judge your fellow until you reach his place.” In other words, we all have our challenges; the fact that we do not succumb to a particular temptation while another person does does not make us superior to him. Who can measure the effect of his upbringing, environment, or inborn character weaknesses against the temptations he faces?) – Kehot Chumash Commentary, Lev. 19:15
  15. Do not slander
  16. Do not jeopardize your neighbor’s life.
  17. Do not harbor hatred.

How should we live in the end times?

1 Pt. 1:13-16 CSB (notice, Peter quotes Lev. 19:2)

  • The holiness commands God gave to Israel connect to the end time instructions God has for the Church.
  • 2 Pt. 3:1-7 CSB
    • Scoffers – scoffing at true biblical teaching
    • Following their own evil desires (if the Spirit leads us, this can’t happen [Gal. 5:16-26]).
    • Questioning the coming of the Lord
    • The time of the end will be like the days of Noah
  • Noah was the only one found righteous in his generation.
  • Lk. 18:1-8 CSB
  • Prayer is key in the days we live in (see prayer books at the bottom of these notes).
  • If we are not persistent in prayer, if we are not led by the Spirit in prayer then faith is dormant in us.

Be Discerning in Your Listening and Following

2 Pt. 2:1-3

  • In these last days, there will be and already are many false things in the Church trying to lead us astray, so we must have our eyes on Jesus, our minds full of the Word, and our hearts turned to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
