Hope For America

Happy Election Day!
Happy Turn The Page Back to 1776 Day!

I woke up this morning with the words, “On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand.” My thoughts immediately settled on the fact that no matter what happens today, my eyes are on the Lord. We hopefully would all say that because it’s the appropriate mindset to have. After a few moments of praying, I checked my email and saw an article stating that fences and barriers had been put up around different locations in D.C. and thought to myself, it wasn’t always like this.

More than the natural election, we must see the spiritual reality. The enemy of this nation wants Republicans to hate Democrats and Democrats to hate Republicans. But Scripture says how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity. The enemy seeks to infiltrate both parties, not just one.

Both Presidential candidates have slogans that speak to the spirit realm: Forward, Turn the Page, and Make America Great Again. The only way forward is to turn back to God; we must turn the page back to the founding of the nation, and we must return to our Judeo-Christian roots. I believe we can Make America Great Again by making America Godly again, by returning to prayer, and by returning to the Word of God as our foundation.

I believe that regardless of who wins the presidency, God is extending an opportunity for us to return to Him. Each opportunity is remarkably different; one comes in goodness, the other with great hardship.

I, like many, have made the mistake of thinking that if a certain candidate doesn’t win, America is over. However, the problem with that sentiment is that it has no faith in God; it does not allow for redemption nor repentance through hardship, which is how it came to Israel repeatedly through Scripture.

My prayer is that we in the Body of Christ would be optimistic, humble, and repentant. America can be great again if we, the Church, stand in, preach, and act righteously.

The choice is ours, with our vote, with our prayers, and with our actions. It’s not just a vote during election season but a commitment to be involved with our communities, to serve, to love, to bring unity, and to be a helping hand in time of need.

Let’s come against the hate and division that media elites want to create in this country; let’s stand up against career politicians who serve themselves and not their constituents. It’s time for We The People again. Pray, study American history, read the sermons that built this nation, and let us be the change we want to see.
