Kislev: See the Light and Begin Again

Tonight, we enter the Hebrew month of Kislev. This month, we celebrate Hanukkah; we celebrate light; Yeshua is our ultimate light and reveals to us all the light of the Torah, The Word of God.

The Scripture in my spirit for this month is Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT “The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. 19 But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over. 20 My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. 21 Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, 22 for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.”

The Hebrew letter for the month is Samekh, which means to trust God as you come full circle. From 5785 through 5788, I believe God wants to take many of us on a journey, a process of deliverance and healing. It is time for us not just to put the past in the past but keep it there. It’s time for us to let the full light of day shine on our path and move forward.

As you look at each month on God’s calendar, you will see that there is always some aspect of healing, whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Especially over these next three years, we need to press into the healing(s) we need. We need to take hold of the promises and not let go. Many of us have been in a shaking and are witnessing great shakings at high levels in the body. With the shaking, there is much sorrow, but we also need to allow personal sanctification to take place. We need to back off from leaders who have proven themselves unfaithful. While we pray for their repentance, that doesn’t mean we are to submit to ungodliness.

Hanukkah is a celebration of the miracle of oil and the standing against those who want to forgo the ways of God for the ways of the world. Let this month be a month of rededication, refocus on who Yeshua is, and be his disciple. Celebrate Hanukkah at the end of the month, cross over into Tevet, lighting all eight candles, and declare with David, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word! Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord, and teach me your rules. I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law. The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts. Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart. I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.” (Psalm 119:105-112 ESV).
