5780: Pey: Speech and Freedom
5780/2020 and Covid-19
- COVID-19 was discovered in China during December of 2019 (Chanukah).
- First mentioned to be a pandemic on March 11, 2020, the 15th of Adar (Shushan Purim). This is the day of second celebration outside of Israel, so that Jew haters would know that God stands with His people.
- Entered America January 20, 2020. January 20 is the day the President is sworn in. The 2020 election would have many issues.
- Ten days after it entered America, it was declared a public health emergency of international concern. On January 30, the Torah reading for that day was the account of the plague of locusts.
- Hallmarks of the pandemic include lockdowns and isolation, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing.
In the first year of a decade of speech and freedom, we are told to put a mask on our mouths, and that we must forgo freedom to gather for public safety. The enemy began his work to close our mouths and steal our freedom.
God, Nations, and Israel
God deals with all nations.
God has a covenant with Israel.
God contends with nations concerning their treatment of Israel.
October 7, 2023 (Shabbat and Simchat Torah): the most significant attack on Israel during its modern history.
- Antisemitism has been on the rise.
- There is conflict in the Church regarding God’s covenant with Israel.
5786: Pey/Vav: Connection and Unification
The Inner Meaning of Hebrew Letters by Robert M. Haralick
“Everything that happens, physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually can be transformed into action only after passing through the border, through the entranceway into our existence, which, metaphysically speaking, means being expressed verbally or nonverbally through the mouth.” (pg. 243). He goes on to say, “The thoughts in the mind are at the extremity of the physical realm in communication through the mouth. The spoken thoughts that emanate from the mouth have the power to scatter and destroy obsolete structure while at the same time to beautify, glorify, and crown the magnificence of physical existence by breaking through all self-imposed limitations. The choice is ours to exercise that freedom and grow, or not to exercise it and waste away in a lifeless form and structure. Let us choose to glorify and crown.” (pgs. 253-254)
In this decade, we can either have redemption and deliverance or division and separation.
The enemy wants the Christian Church to be divided and separated from Israel. [h]e wants us to ignore the truth of Romans ten and eleven, that we are grafted into a Jewish root.
We either connect with God and His people or with the enemy and against the people of God.
- The first day of the new year began with nations at the U.N. holding council to create a “Palestinian State” within Israel. Jerusalem was even referred to as “E-1,” and it was said that it needed to be split. Yesterday, the U. S. President said that Israel was not going to annex Judea and Samaria.
The Tower of Babel, Words, and the Nations
Gen. 11:4 “And they said, go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top into heaven, and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad the face of the whole earth.”
Prov. 10:19 “In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.”
Lk. 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
Prov. 18:20-21 “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Concerning the tower builders, they wanted to make for themselves a name. They were not concerned with the glory of God. Name here is the word idol. The Midrash states that on top of the tower would be an idol that held a sword that would wage war against God.
Num. 23:8-10, 19-24; 24:4-9
Isa. 49:25-26
Gen. 12:3b NLT “I will curse those who treat you with contempt.”
Ezek. 28:24-26 AMPC
Joel 3:1-2
Zech. 2:8-12; 12:1-3
