Connection and Election (1 Pt. 1:1-2)

Audio Teaching

Notes

1 Peter 4:7 KJV “But the end of all things is at hand; be ye therefore sober and watch unto prayer.”

First and Second Peter address being born again and sanctified. He gives instructions to husbands and wives, talks about our Christian walk, and enduring suffering. In Second Peter, he addresses spiritual warfare, false teachers, and the second coming. Through it all, he exalts the centrality of Christ in our lives.

Gentile Election in Three Proofs

  1. Sanctification: Purification and holiness
  2. Obedience

Sanctification and obedience go hand in hand.

  • 1 Ths. 4:1-7; 5:23
  • Col. 1:9-11
  • Election is dealt with in detail in 2 Peter 3:1-10
  • Sanctification is brought up again in 1 Peter 1:22
