2026 Recommendations

Earlier today, I recorded a podcast that addressed Hanukkah, spiritual warfare, and Romans chapters nine through eleven. At the end of the podcast, I mentioned that I felt impressed to spend extra time in the Gospels, Prophets, and in Paul’s prayers in 2026. This post will include a summary of the key points from the podcast, along with links to recommended reading.

Spiritual Warfare and Prayer

We all know the devil is real, but many times we don’t truly engage in spiritual warfare. This is not an obsession with the enemy, but the realization that we have one and that he must be resisted.

James 4:7-8 KJV “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

Faith for Physical Strength, Health, and Healing

I’ve noticed lately that people who usually don’t get sick have been dealing with flu, aches, and pains at a frequency that is not normal. I believe we are living in a time that we must learn to rely on God for our strength and health in ways most of us never have before. We need to get the Word in us in these areas and build our faith through reading and listening to the truth that God is a healer.

2026 is a year to be in the Word like never before. Set aside time for extra reading in addition to your normal Bible reading. I also suggest looking into authors like Andrew Murray, A. W. Tozer, Smith Wigglesworth, Jonathan Edwards, and Charles Spurgeon to help encourage you along the way in 2026.

In 2026, I will be writing posts from certain portions of the gospels, as well as verse by verse through the prayers of Paul. I believe 2026 will be a year where we must engage in the spiritual battle on a higher level than before. We cannot be lax or relegate it to church on the weekends. The enemy is seeking whom he may devour, and we need to be ready to resist him and say, ” You will not devour me.”
