A Prophetic Purim

This morning, February 28th, Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran. As of 1:45 pm (CST), I have seen reports that Iatola Kamini is dead, but Iran is currently refuting those claims. Whether the Iatola is dead or not, I believe these strikes and the resistance of the Iranian people against the regime have a prophetic significance. This week’s prophetic portion is 1 Samuel 15:2-34. I encourage you to grab your Bible and read the portion right now.

1 Samuel 15:3-9 KJV “Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. 4 And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah. 5 And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley. 6 And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites. 7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. 8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. 9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.”

Notice that God said that Amalek must be destroyed because they did not show kindness to Israel when they left Egypt. On the other hand, the Kenites were spared because they showed kindness to Israel. In the end, the Prophet Samuel hacked Agag to pieces, but it should have been Saul who did so. Because Saul did not obey, Israel had to deal with Haman later on, and that is where the story of Purim comes from. But before we turn our attention to the Book of Esther, look at verse twenty-nine, “And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.” One of the names of God is “The Strength of Israel,” and we have seen that strength in various miracles since October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel from Gaza.

Now, I won’t be going through the entire book of Esther in this post; I’ll just be highlighting some things. I encourage you to read the book of Esther out loud on Tuesday during Purim and to pray for Israel and the Iranian people during this time. Iran is ancient Persia, the place where Esther was queen. Haman was an advisor to the King, and he hated the Jews because Esther’s uncle, Mordecai, would not bow down to Haman. History tells us that Haman wore an image of a false god around his neck, which is why Mordecai would not bow.

Haman becomes so enraged that he gets the King to issue a decree for the murder of the Jews in the entire kingdom. Haman made a gallows to hang Mordecai on, which he ended up hanging on himself.  The King honored Esther’s Uncle over Haman and when his family found out they said, “If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shall surely fall before him.” (Esther 6:13b). The King gave Mordecai the position Haman heled and issued a decree that the Jews could defend themselves against those who wanted to kill them. In the end, the Jews were victorious over their enemies, and the Feast of Purim was instituted (9:1-3, 17-22, 27-28).

The interesting thing about the story is the fact that non-Jews joined with Israel after the fear of Mordecai fell on them. There are those in Iran who know that Israel is for them, and the enemy wants the Iranian people to be against the Jews. The enemy wants all people to be against the Jews; that’s why you have voices like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and fake “pastors” like Joel Webbon and others who do nothing now but speak against Israel and the Jewish people.

We are living in the beginning of the end; all eyes have been on Israel consistently since October 7, 2023. Each of us has a decision to make: will we align with the Jews and the nation of Israel, or the enemies of Israel, who are the enemies of God?

We are in prophetic times, and if each of us does not become firm in our understanding and absolute belief in God’s covenant with the people and the land of Israel, we will be swept up into the greatest deception in human history, that the God of Israel, who cannot lie, has broken His Everlasting Covenant with His people.

Spend time in the Prophets and the Book of Genesis, know that God does not change and that Israel will always be His people. And yes, the Jews in Israel are real Jews, and yes, the land today is the land of the Bible. Turn off Tucker and Jew hating “pastors” and read the Bible for yourself, read it at face value, don’t allegorize and spiritualize, read it for what God says, and take your stand.
