Eph. 6:10 KJV “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

Gal. 5:1 KJV “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

Jn. 8:36 KJV “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

2 Tim. 2:1-7 AMPC “So you, my son, be strong (strengthened inwardly) in the grace (spiritual blessing) that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus. 2 And the [instructions] which you have heard from me along with many witnesses, transmit and entrust [as a deposit] to reliable and faithful men who will be competent and qualified to teach others also. 3 Take [with me] your share of the hardships and suffering [which you are called to endure] as a good (first-class) soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him. 5 And if anyone enters competitive games, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully (fairly, according to the rules laid down). 6 [It is] the hard-working farmer [who labors to produce] who must be the first partaker of the fruits.7 Think over these things I am saying [understand them and grasp their application], for the Lord will grant you full insight and understanding in everything.”

Jos. 1:8-9 AMPC “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. 9 Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Eph. 6:11 KJV “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Wiles – Deception

Depression is a deception because the joy of the Lord is your strength (Neh. 8:10)

Psa. 28:7 KJV “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:
therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

Joy and praise are spiritual weapons.

Sickness is a deception because God sent His Word to heal and deliver you (Psa. 107:20).

Deception is more than just a lie concerning a thing – the devil deceives us by causing us to doubt the promises in God’s Word. If we are to be joyful, the devil will put heaviness on us. Because we are healed by the stripes of Jesus, the enemy will put sickness on us; he will try to get us to confess sickness instead of health. Marriage is ordained of the Lord, so the enemy wants to bring strife between a husband and wife.

Eph. 6:12 KJV “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Principalities: rule over nations.

Powers: authorities that rule over principalities.

Rulers of darkness: ministry of deception.

spiritual wickedness (depravity, plots, iniquity): spirit forces of the supernatural sphere

Eph. 6:13-14 KJV “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”

TRUTH: Clear understanding of the Word of God (MacMillan)

RIGHTEOUSNESS: Active obedience to the Word which he has received (MacMillan)

Jn. 17:17 KJV “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

2 Cor. 5:17-21 KJV Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Eph. 6:15 KJV “and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”

Isa. 9:6-7 KJV “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice
from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”

Psa. 29:11 KJV “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.”

Psa. 119:165 KJV “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”

Psa. 34:14 KJV “Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.”

In order to seek peace, we must depart from evil and do good.

Peace – Shalom: nothing missing, nothing broken (The picture of Psalm 23).

Phil. 4:6-9 AMPC “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. 7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. 9 Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.”

1 Jn. 4:4 KJV “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

FAITH: Complete refuge under the blood of Calvary, where no power of the enemy can penetrate (MacMillan)

What is faith? Heb. 11:1 AMPC “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”

Eph. 6:17 KJV “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

Salvation: Defense/Defender

Sword of the Spirit (RHEMA): Ref. not to the whole Bible as such, but to the individual Scriptures which the Spirit brings to our remembrance for us in time of need. *A prerequsit being the regular storing of the mind with Scripture. (Vine’s Expository Dictionary)

Ex. 15:2 KJV “The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation:
he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”

1 Sam. 2:1 KJV “And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord,
mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies;
because I rejoice in thy salvation.”
