This page can be described as a snapshot of the seasons of my walk with the Lord. You will see things by category for easy reference. I have always endeavored to be led by the Lord in my study and in the books I read. There are seasons of reading, and then there are books that are foundational to my life. Each of us is different. My prayer is that something that has helped me will also help you.

JEWISH ROOTS AND UNDERSTANDING
Understanding the Jewish roots of our Christian faith has been a great blessing to my understanding of Scripture and walk with the Lord. The majority of the resources below are based on a traditional Jewish understanding. That being the case, some information will not align with traditional Christian understanding. I use these books as a resource to help understand the Bible and modern Jewish culture. I have a deep love and appreciation for the Jewish people and the Torah, and I enjoy studying it. The Bible is a whole book, and our faith is Judeo-Christian, so gain a deeper understanding of Jesus’ teachings and God’s teachings in the Torah by connecting with your Jewish roots.

A unique commentary on every page explaining God’s focus on the Land of Israel and clarifying prophecies about the final redemption.)
* The Mishnah (English translation with explanatory notes): Herbert Danby (The Mishnah is the first part of the Oral Torah, containing six divisions explaining the various instructions of the Torah. It, along with the Talmud, provides us with great insight into understanding what we as Christians refer to as the Old Testament, which is actually the Tanakh, as well as the context of New Testament teachings.)

Sacrifices – From a Messianic Jewish Perspective: D. Thomas Lancaster (Replacement theology teaches that the death and resurrection of Jesus canceled the Levitical sacrifices, but this assumption raises some serious problems. Torah Club author D. Thomas Lancaster takes us into Leviticus, Hebrews, the Messianic Era, and the World to Come to reconcile the seeming contradictions between old and new. Lancaster unpacks apostolic teaching about the Temple, the sacrificial system, and their place in the new covenant. Surprising, paradigm-shifting answers to difficult questions: What were the animal sacrifices for? Why did the apostles continue to offer sacrifices after the resurrection? Why do the prophets predict a return to the sacrifices in the future? Why don’t we bring sacrifices today?)
The Prophets: Abraham J. Heschel
The Essential Guide to Jewish Prayer and Practice
Living Emblems – Ancient Symbols of Faith: John D. Garr
*To Be A Jew: A Guide to Jewish Observance in Contemporary Life: R. Hayim Halevy Donin
*Teshuvah: Adin Steinsaltz (Teshuvah is the Hebrew word for repentance. Most Christians understand this to mean a change in thinking. As you will learn in this book, it is much more. Repentance is a total return unto the ways of God. You will learn that all or nothing is a false dilemma, how to deal with lapses and crises, how the ways of God relate to different areas of life, and more. This is an essential teaching for every follower of Yeshua to understand).

Everything in this section is a must-read as it benefits our understanding of deliverance, spiritual warfare, and healing. I trained under Don Dickerman Ministries and worked in the ministry for several years, ministering deliverance and assisting the office manager with day-to-day tasks and preparing for ministry trips. Deliverance and healing often go hand in hand, and I believe that in these last days, deliverance, spiritual warfare, and understanding the place of Israel and the Jewish people in God’s plan are paramount for living the victorious Christian life.
