Cultural Trends and the Church

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:26-27 NKJV

You don’t have to be a Christian to be politically conservative, but you need to conserve, and by that, I mean uphold and defend traditional values. I am baffled by conservatives who claim to be Christian or Catholic and those who don’t support Bruce Jenner’s run for Governor. I thought the conservative movement was against all the crazy gender stuff? I guess we’re only against it when it’s the other side, and I think the other side is only for it when it’s one of them.

Joy Behar “miss gendered” Jenner several times on The View, but she simply apologized; no firing, though (it seems that cancel culture has a specific agenda). When will conservatives stop bowing down to cultural craziness just to get the left to be nice (which will never happen)? The more important question is, when will Christians stop going along on the political highway, thinking that politics is the answer?

Bruce Jenner running for Governor exposes a lot of fake conservatives. Whenever I see a GOP questionnaire, it always asks, do you think the GOP should stop focusing on social issues and broaden our reach by solely focusing on economics? My answer is always no, but for each survey, they ask me again. That should show Christians that the Republican Party isn’t conservative. They say all the right things to get elected, and then they do nothing. But here’s the thing, if we give up the social issues, the taxes won’t matter because we’ll be under the judgment of God. We’re already under the judgment of God. A guy dressing as a woman, saying he has common sense, is the judgment of God.

False prophets were always a sign of God’s judgment on Israel, and look at the prophets in the church today, they all prophesied Trump would win, and they were wrong. It’s time for Christians to quit hitching their wagons to politics; that’s not the answer. Politics are important, and I want America to prosper, but God’s plan doesn’t hinge on this nation. Now, lest you think I only take issues with conservative Christians willing to go against God’s created order for a political win, I have just as big a problem with liberal Christians who embrace the unbiblical ideology of Critical Race Theory to meet felt needs. This bowing to culture violates the biblical command not to show partiality (James 2:1-13). As Christians, we don’t need political power to preach the gospel, and Paul is clear that the gospel will never be socially acceptable.

Christians and conservatives, in general, are tired of being called racist, homophobic, transphobic, etcetera. The thing is, if we aren’t racists, they’ll call us something else. Big tent republicanism is killing the conservative movement. Likewise, easy believism and ecumenism are pulling the Church in the wrong direction.

Bruce Jenner is not the answer to Gavin Newsome. He is simply further evidence of God’s judgment. Critical Race Theory won’t win people to Jesus, nor will it show how much we care. Like Jenner’s run for Governor, Critical Race Theory only serves to destroy the witness of the Church. Yet, at the same time, it distinguishes true Christians from false converts.

Paul wrote to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 NKJV “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” We are in that time. Christians supporting Jenner’s run for Governor and others espousing Critical Race Theory show that many aren’t enduring sound teaching. Critical Race Theory isn’t sound teaching, and a man who thinks he’s a woman believes a myth. It’s time for the Church to wake up, quit trying to advance Jesus’s Kingdom through politics, and stop trying to make yourself relevant through godless ideologies – return to the Scripture.

“And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” – 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 NKJV
