NOTES

“But Noach found grace in the sight of Adonai.” – Gen. 6:8 CJB.
In his generation, Noah was righteous and blameless.
- Righteous and wholehearted.
- In his generation – God judges us based on when we live.
- Today, we tend to judge past actions on present knowledge; this isn’t so with God.
- God judges based on a person’s knowledge – how they obey and what they reject.

(Gen. 6:14-8:22): God used Noah to build a boat that took him 120 years. This gave Noah’s generation 120 years to repent and for God to extend forgiveness instead of judgment. – 1 Pt. 3:18-22.
The Character of God
- God not only saved Noah and his family but directed Noah to bring seven of every clean animal and two of every unclean animal.

- See the similarity of God’s command to man in Gen. 1:26-30 and Gen. 9:1-7.
The Struggle of Man
- It wasn’t until Seth had Enosh that men began to call on God (Gen.4:26).
- Gen. 8:20, Noah built an altar.
- Gen. 9:13, God’s rainbow and man’s perversion of promise.
- Ge. 11 – The Tower of Babel

This week’s portion in relation to the Hebrew decade:
- 2020/5780: PEY: Speech and Freedom.
- 2020: Our mouths were covered and freedoms limited.
- 2020: Passover in homes and not large gatherings.
- 2022: A fight over whether hospitals could keep leaven-free.
- This is a decade of warfare over whether we will cross over each year or not.
- This year, 5784, the year of the door – our words and obedience must come together to go through the doors God has for us.
- Will we be like the culture and ignore warnings, or will we have a repentant and obedient heart?
- It’s time to board the ark, go through the storm, and into a new beginning!
