Last week, the world witnessed a miracle as passengers stopped a co-pilot hijacker from taking down a plane on its way to Israel. Miracles are not just the 100% intervention of God; when these passengers let the lion spirit of Israel rise up in them, fear took a back seat, and God used them to perform a miracle.
What happened Thursday in the natural is fundamentally spiritual, the battle versus good and evil. This year, I am focusing my teaching on prayer, the Prophets, and spiritual warfare. A few years ago, I went through the weekly Torah portions; this year, I am adding the Prophetic Portion to my Friday night teachings, as well as emphasizing prayer on Tuesdays and spiritual warfare on Wednesdays. Tuesdays will combine written and audio teachings with times of prayer. Wednesday will focus on understanding the weapons of our warfare.
Bible Reading
If you would like to follow the reading schedule for Friday’s teachings, you can order the Daily Bread Journal or get the weekly reading every Saturday night from my social media. This year, I’m reading the daily readings from the ArtScroll commentaries (Chumash, Prophets, and Writings) for my own growth. You can also purchase each book of the Prophets individually.
Friday’s teachings will be based on the Complete Jewish Bible. I am also reading through the Amplified Bible and NASB New Inductive Study Bible. I am marking the Scriptures the following way in 5787:
Blue = Israel
Purple = Prayer
Pink = Abiding (relationship with God) and Promises (things God does for us, how He gets us through hard times)
Orange = Spiritual Warfare (dealing with the enemy, negative thoughts, overcoming difficulty)
Yellow = Basic highlights
Instead of highlighting entire passages, this year I am only highlighting the verse number(s) in blue, purple, pink, or orange.
Getting on God’s Calendar
I have taught on different aspects of the Festivals of the Lord over the last few years. I am adding another layer by teaching on each month as well, going back over the basics of each Festival before the appointed celebration.
In Daniel, it is prophesied that the enemy will try to wear out the saints and change the appointed times. The Church forfeited the Seasons of God in early Church councils, but the Lord has begun restoring the Church to its Jewish roots. This is a major part of the battle we face in the days ahead, will we return to our roots and embrace our foundation?
Jeremiah 16:19 (NASB95) states, “To You the nations will come From the ends of the earth and say, ‘Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood, Futility and things of no profit.”
Just as we have a yearly calendar and a business calendar, as believers we also need to know God’s calendar; there are cultural holidays, and then there are God’s Holy Days. This year, we will emphasize and teach on the fullness of God’s calendar.
I have never felt as much urgency as I do now in prayer, prophecy, and spiritual warfare. I am looking forward to a year of study, being alone with God, and taking us through the Word of God. May God bless each of us as we draw close to Him, prepare for battle, engage in the battle, and have victory through Yeshua our Lord.
